I'm not a fan of these long books, but since none of my pre-orders were ready yet, I took a chance and read the first book in this series, Winter's Fury. I couldn't wait to read the next book, and I ordered it right away. The last time I read a book this long was about 25 years ago.....Outlander. They aren't anything alike at all, but that was the last time a big long book held my interest like this one did.I LOVE this new author and I absolutely love the books. I love her writing style so much and everything is so beautifully described that when I'm finished reading for the night, I have to close the book and just sit there for a few minutes until I'm back home. Can't wait for more from this author.
Vivid descriptions on everything makes you see it so easily as you read with some humor but also intense battle scenes. Mystery, magic, betrayal, evil, love and loyalty!I hate spoilers so I never get into too much detail but WOW! These are great books and I can't wait for the last one I pre-ordered it looking forward to finding out the ending. Who will live and who will die? Will good triumph over evil? Will all get their happily ever after?One more thing, who doesn't love a badass female character? If you like Vikings or Game of Thrones you will love this series of books. This needs to go to the screen in one way or another without losing the quality!
For the past few years, I have been pining for a series that would come close to captivating me as much as my favorite series of all had previously done... TLOTR (I love Hobbits)!. No, I would never compare between the two, I simply correlate the depth to which both series had such a dramatic effect on me and the extent to which I fully dove into each book.People... I'm a mom, I have a life, and NO time to read. I read these books in 3 days.
I found this series quite by accident, and when it was compared to game of thrones I decided to give it a try. Now I am reading book number 4 and signed up to be made aware of more from this author and she wrote me back to say book number 5 is available for preorder so excited it doesn’t have dragons but it have a throne everyone wants and definitely a fight between good and evil so give this series a try very exciting and suspenseful.
Non Stop Action. Women have value in addition to having children. A woman who is a kings daughter is also a warrior. She is valued by her father. When her Uncle kills her father and takes over the kingdom, he also sends her to another kingdom to marry a drunken and broken Prince. With all the plots and sub plots, you will not be bored. These novels are additive! I just bought the third one!
The book kept my attention. I was so irritated by Jael's husband. I know he's under a spell but come on man ! You're still sleeping with a chica and you know you're married. I must say I love the action sequences. They were descriptive and detailed. What did it for me is the plot flows especially from the previous book. Some authors I've read in the past have a rough transition when continuing to the next book. I didn't experience that with her.
Amazing ! I absolutely loved it ! Even better than Vikings,the top series currently running in South Afrika.carracters come alive for me.wordbuilding fantastic.But be warned,this is not your tipical romance novelle,this is raw,hartbreaking and violent.just the kind of story i love !
I really enjoyed reading this installment. It is definitely a page turner. The characters are all three dimensional and I can't wait to start the next book.
