I got this after I loved the first Kyra Sundance dog tricks book. My dog learned all the basics and most of the tricks that don't require a lot of jumping (she has bad knees). My dog is really intelligent and gets bored easily so I thought this would be great for us to do new things together. This book DOES have a lot of great ideas but you need loads of equipment to even play about 2/3 of these games. Most people don't have pedestals, wobbling boards, giant bouncy balls, and agility equipment just lying around their house. This was disappointing and so far we've only been able to play about 2 games in this book. We can probably play a few more but unless I invest in some of the things Ms. Sundance has this book is a dud.

I'm so glad I didn't pay but $2 for this. If you are new to training games with your dog, or need ideas as a new trainer, this would be a good thing to have on hand. As someone who has trained for 2+ years, has 4 dogs, and works them regularly, I ended up getting nothing new from this book. All of the games also require props, the likes of which you likely won't own unless you've been training and playing training games with your dog(s) for a long time. In all honesty, if you just go on YouTube and search for prop games, training games, and balance training for your dog, you're likely to find a lot of the same stuff.

This is one of my all time favorite dog books! I have a Dalmatian puppy, and I was looking for ways to bond with him that would be fun for both of us. This book has some wonderful and fun games to play with puppies as well as more advanced games and tricks when you're ready for more of a challenge. You don't need a lot of space to play these games - and some of the props required you will have in your house already. My puppy and I started with easy things like Weenie Bobbing (we used our bathtub instead of a splash pool and it worked great) and the Muffin Tin Game and we've been having fun ever since!One thing I love about this book is the activities fit easily into your day. We are all busy, and it's hard to find the extra time to spend quality time with your dog. This book makes it easy!If you're looking for ways to have fun with your dog while building a stronger bond with him (or her) this book is a great choice!

This is a GREAT book! The games are so much fun - Zima's by far favorites are Weenie Bobbing & the Muffin Tin game. I teach a local trick dog class and we use the Muffin tin game as an intro to all tricks working with scent.I really like the set up of this book too. It breaks the tricks into categories like confidence building, coordination, etc. That has come in handy when I try to teach my dog and the dogs in my trick class a good variety of tricks.Zima has earned her Champion Trick Dog title and it is because of THIS specific book! We started with 51 Puppy Tricks (also by Kyra), but when I was struggling to find a coordination trick a 6 month old puppy could do I got this book last Christmas. I taught the Double Beam trick and that was our last step in becoming a champion!Thanks Kyra for your GREAT trick books! After one year of owning a dog I know own all 4 of your trick books (101 Dog Tricks, 51 Puppy Tricks, 101 More Dog Tricks, and this one, 10 Minute Dog Training Games)

I would say that over 80% of the games in this book require additional purchases of items - kiddie pool, agility poles, balance balls, etc. If this were a book of easy-to-do games with items that are easily found around the house, I would give it 5/5. But alas, 1/5 for me due to really only having the ability to play just a handful of games. Waste of money.

Some fun stuff, but too many of these games/tricks require some sort of special equipment. However, if you can make or buy the equipment, and then have a space for storing them, you'll find this genuinely fun.

As mentioned by others, many if not the majority of tricks in this book, require you to have way to much equipment, such as fencing, hula hoops, pipes, cloth tunnels, balance balls, etc. Unless you are willing to go to all that trouble, I would look for another book that has simpler options.

I loved 101 dog tricks and bought this book for quicker activities to do with my dogs. This book stands on its own and does not cross over with the other book which gives you great value.What i likeThe activities vary in difficulty level and definitely make it easy to find something for your dog.the book is broken down into different types of training or activities eg bonding, tricks, obedienceGood indexHas games that build on from each otherWhile some games require props, most of the time you can use substitutesMy only problem is that the formatting for use on the Kindle iPad app is not great. I purchased 10 Waterboxxes from DewHarvest last year. My first use was to save a small live oak tree planted by the neighbor's third grader in a one acre field next to our house. Our town provides all our third graders with a sapling as part of the school's science program. The tree was planted and promptly ignored while his focus moved to sports and video games. As a result, the tree was not receiving sufficient water as it tried to establish itself in the Texas heat. The little sapling was just barely alive when I asked the neighbor if I could experiment with the Waterboxx. Since installation of the Waterboxx, the tree has made a remarkable recovery and has almost doubled in size. The only time I added any water (3.5 gallons) was during the initial installation. I have essentially also ignored it ever since. The Waterboxx is truly an amazing innovation. It works! Exactly as described in this book. Plus, The Waterboxx Gardener book by Dr. Auman has opened my eyes to its potential for our vegetable garden. The harsh summers take a toll on our garden (as well as me and my wife). Watering is a full time challenge from June through September. The insights provided in this book will expand our use of the Waterboxx from the trees to the vegetables. About the Author

Martin King is a highly qualified British Military Historian/Author/ Lecturer who’s had the honor of reintroducing many US, British and German veterans to the WWII battlefields where they fought. He lives in Belgium near Antwerp where he spends his time writing, lecturing, working with veteran organizations and visiting European battlefields. Widely regarded as a leading authority on European Military History, General Graham Hollands referred to him as the “Greatest living expert on the Battle of the Bulge”. Steven Ambrose called him “Our expert in the Ardennes”. Fellow writer and notable historian Professor Carlton Joyce said “He really is the best on the Ardennes". His campaigning work for World War Two veterans recently came to attention of some leading military personnel at the Pentagon who cordially invited him to present his latest work The Tigers of Bastogne. Awarded ‘Services to Education’ certificates by the USAF and NATO. In 2015 his documentary feature Searching for Augusta received no less than 7 Emmy Awards for Best Historical Documentary.

While war is undoubtedly hell, there is another side that often escapes notice. Martin King has done a masterful job in uncovering the humanity of this pivotal time during WWII. From the wounded soldiers to the terrified townspeople, Bastogne has come alive for me. I can see the fog, feel the freezing wind and hear the screams of pain. Most of all, I can see Augusta and feel her call to duty and love for Jack in the face of racist rebuffs from the injured and callous disrespect from her neighbors. Thank you, Martin, for finding Augusta and telling her amazing story.

This is the powerful and incredible story of a woman who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Stories like Augusta NEED to be told, and I am glad Martin King put in the hard work to get her story told.This book details the true story of a Belgian-Congolese woman who put herself in extremely dangerous events to help and to save others. These are the stories that move people. These are stories that resonate with humans. Don't believe me? Ask your kid what happened in last year's whatever Marvel movie and you will be greeted with a blank stare. "Bad guy, good guy, lots of special effects go boom," they will respond.Ask someone who has read this book what happened in Bastogne in December of 1944 and THEY.WILL.REMEMBER.Isn't that what history is all about? Isn't that what heroes are all about? Ordinary people who do extraordinary things in times of strife and peril. That is what I call a hero. That is what Augusta's story means to me. Robert C. Bishop (PhD, University of Texas) is associate professor of physics and philosophy and the John and Madeleine McIntyre Endowed Professor of Philosophy and History of Science at Wheaton College. His research interests include the physical and social sciences, particularly the implications of science and its assumptions for theories of mind, free will and consciousness. Bishop is the author of The Philosophy of the Social Science and co-editor of Between Chance and Choice: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Determinism. Widely published in scientific and religious journals, Bishop is a member of the American Physical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Scientific Affiliation and the Philosophy of Science Association. He is also the area editor for philosophy of science at the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy.

This book will make an excellent college textbook on the subject of science and Christianity. It covers a lot of material and flows well, starting with biblical interpretation, then up-to-date material on the origins of the universe, the earth, life, species, and humans. Each section concludes with a chapter on biblical and theological perspectives.The authors clearly favor non-concordist (“parallels between biblical texts and scientific statements are not required and there are no expectations of biblical texts having scientific implications”) over concordist (“presupposing that biblical texts have scientific import”) of Scripture.Throughout the book, the authors refer to a doctrine of functional integrity of creation, by which they mean that “creation can accomplish what the Father intends it to accomplish in the Son through the Spirit.” They discuss the material means by which God’s intentional creative process occurs.One of the more interesting aspects of the book is that the authors clearly describe what science knows and doesn’t yet know, particularly in the chapters on the origin of life, where open questions are brought up and discussed.My only issue with the book is that it contains more than I needed to know about the scientific details and less than I wanted to know about some of the theological issues that result from accepting the science, such as the fall and original sin.

I love this book. It is essentially a textbook, but the authors treat such a broad range of subjects with such thorough scientific analysis and yet such reverent and logical theology that the length can be forgiven. I think every Christian should read this book, but it will especially give hope to Christians who have struggled to reconcile faith with scientific facts. The authors did a wonderful job. As an added bonus, the book is simply beautiful.

Whether you are a proponent of Evolutionary Creationism or one who thinks it is a horribly conceived idea, you'll probably want to engage with this book. Wheaton College professors have been teaching a course for years covering the Biblical, Theological and Scientific aspects of Origins. Now they have produced a textbook. And here is my first caveat: It reads like a textbook! This is not a book that will keep most of you up at night, but it is a book that deals with conventional science as it relates to the origins of the universe, the earth, and life, especially human life and how to relate that to the Bible. If you have read John Walton's Lost World series, you'll kind of know where they are going theologically.If you homeschool (like my family) you'll want to pick this book up just so you and your kids are exposed to the best science available when it comes to Origins. And even if you disagree with it theologically, I would still strongly urge you to read it and acknowledge to yourself and your kids that there are Christians who deeply love God and His Word who disagree with you.

This is a fantastic resource that is a must-read for anyone who wants to explore the intersection of human origins and Christian theology in an intelligent manor. In this book you will get a world-class presentation of the current science on human origins. The text would be worth the price simply for access to excellent scientific scholarship in a single volume. In addition, and what makes the book truly unique, is the attention that's paid to the theological question of human origins. John Walton offers an account of how to read the creation account(s) in a manner that takes their Ancient Near East context into account. In the end, the book shows one way in which contemporary science and biblical interpretation can be mutually-edifying conversation partners rather than jilted lovers with an axe to grind.

For decades, a group of professors at Wheaton College has taught a class on Theories of Orgins of the universe from a Christian perspective. In doing so, they have not advocated for an understanding of a young earth. Using multiple scientific and academic disciplines, they have shown how it is possible to have a number of view of orgins based on Scripture, including one that integrates the findings of science that lean toward evolution with an honest interpretation of Scripture, especially Genesis 1-3.This book is a result of the up-to-date results of their work together, designed as a text that other professors in other schools can use to replicate the experience that these professors have had in their class. Just what needed for the right price.

could not expect more from a book

A very helpful synopsis of the life of a nonprofit. Those looking to start one should buy this as a viable blueprint. The stages make a lot of sense and the details that support it are really good. There is some nice discussion about options when a nonprofit is in trouble and has to review and maybe renew its focus. Merging is a good option.Some good information is provided on staffing as well. At the beginning the budgets are very shoesting so its hard to expect many if any to draw a salary. But if people believe in a cause, a good nonprofit will survive.A very good book to start with.

As an executive director of a 7-year old nonprofit undergoing growth and the challenges inherent therein, this book has been an outstanding resource. It carefully, succinctly, and reassuringly reviews both the challenges and opportunities of the various life stages of a nonprofit. This book is a "must read" for all executive staff and Board members of small to medium size nonprofit organizations.
