What a beautifully written book this is! I finished reading it just moments ago and I'm still digesting the fact that the story is over. This book was filled with warmth, hope, love and caring. It taught us about the loggerheads and how we actually do help those in need. I had no idea this was going on and am very grateful for it. I love turtles. I love life. To spend one's time helping the nests/eggs is a gift to all. When children do this with such love and concern, it's incredible.It's a story about a small community that takes care of each other. As they say, it takes a village to raise a child. This is one such example."Swimming Lessons" is all about taking chances, reaching for your dreams, helping others and finding love where you least expect it.Pick up a copy and learn about the loggerheads!

If you read the Beach House and were sad when it ended, this is just what you were hoping for. With a slight shift in time, this story picks up right behind its predecessor. I was delighted to discover how the characters' lives went on and developed after the original owner of the beach house passed away. I like long books, and a good sequel is just about as good as it gets for me. I will definitely go on to read more of these stories. Yes, as I have seen in some other reviews, this author has a few issues with her writing, but (in my mind) the story line far outweighs any little grammatical bumps in the road you might discover.

I love every book I've read by Mary Alice Monroe. I am always thrilled to learn so much about the topic. The details of loggerhead turtles is astounding. I find myself drawn to preservation of the vulnerable species.And in every story, I find myself living with the women, their joys and heartaches are universal and so often mirror my own.

Great story of a small group of women. Or should I say best friends,support group and more importantly family. The love that grew among these women from a love of Loggerhead turtles. I live in Mexico most of the year. I see the giant turtles come in at night lay their eggs and return to the sea. The volunteers who always come and rescue the eggs to go the aquarium, cared for until time for release back to the ocean. Besides a beautiful 2 novel story of these women I learned so much about these special giant creatures of the ocean. These 2 novels will warm your heart.

The story continues at The beach house as Toy begins to raise her daughter, while Miss Lovie's daughter and Brett start to have their own family. The characters, Flo, Emmi, Cara, Brett and Toy are still the Turtle team, their stories intertwine weaving a lovely setting for Love, families, ambition. Each day is more and more difficult to put the book down loving the way Alice Monroe keeps you wanting to hear more and more. And all while telling the migration and nesting habits of the Loggerhead Turtles on Southern shores.

I loved this book! Such a wonderful story of people and turtles.It was so good to have so many from the book before this back, Toy, Cara, Brett, etc etc. I felt close to the people, like they were my friends. I learned a lot about turtles from this book esp, but also from the previous book. I thank Mary Alice for that, all so interesting! Now, I want to learn more. This story stands alone, but it does help to have read the previous one. I want to read Beach House Memories, IF I find it less expensive then it now is.

Great book and love all the characters there's just one big glaring issue for me. The author clearly did her research on the turtles and the wildlife aspects. However she chose to do zero research on IVF she could have found an IVF mom and had a 15 minute chat and done a better job. All the terminology and all the references are so wrong it's irritating. It's so nice to have infertility be spotlighted anywhere but for the love of Pete, do your due diligence and do us warrior mamas justice.

Not at all literature. Maybe what you'd call "beach reading," but it's more than that. Follows on the first book in the series and further fleshes out the Isle of Palms stories and those of the Loggerhead Turtles fighting to nest their babies there. The love story part is especially sweet. and you do actually care for the characters. Just the kind of read I needed when I found it. The first chapter appeared in the first book, just at the time I didn't want it to end, so I quickly purchased this one and kept on reading the night away.

Amazing book for anyone who is interested in knowing the story behind what is soon to be the biggest religion in the world

Many crucial events were missing from the story and i find the analysis of the writer not always in cohesion with the facts. However it was a well written book and gives a general idea on the subject of Muhammad.

With today's headlines about Muslims I wondered about Islam and recognized I did not know much about Islam. This book gives an easy introduction into the beginnings of Islam. I liked it because after reading the book it provides the reader with an option to either go deeper into the subject or leave it as is.

I got this book since I knew very little about Muhammad or the origins of Islam. After the first few pages I had a hard time putting the book down. It was very informative and read like a novel, in a sense bringing the historical figures back to life. The author also connects some events and circumstances from the 6th and 7th centuries to current times which added to the book's relevance. It is interesting that Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, and even Joseph Smith made their connections with God when going off to deserted places. The instances of great violence described in the book alongside attempts at peace and harmony created a theme throughout the book that, like in many religions, is perplexing to say the least. After reading this book I got Hazleton's book After the First Muslim which was written prior to the one I am reviewing. I hope Hazleton writes more on this subject as her style makes for easy, interesting, and informative reading. I strongly recommend this book if you are looking to learn about an important person and time with which you are not familiar.

The book first portion about the first 40 years of Prophet Muhammad's life is all well documented, is unique, and not described in such detail in the contemporary biographies in English by other authors. However, I felt that some of her own judgments and views about Prophet Muhammad's actions during his stay in Medina were not based on facts or research.

Beautifully written, very human look at an influential man.

Anything by Scott Simon is a treasure.

Really good nostalgia for far away Chicagoans

I thought it was an autobiography! Unprepared for focus on sports! Guess I didn't realize author's early career in sports writing.

Scott Simon was much closer to the Chicago legends he writes about that most could ever dream of, but his reflections on how they affected him and the loss he feels with their departure from the main stage and just how much sheer enjoyment and pleasure they generated while they were on top connected with me almost word for word at times.The book really snuck up on me: unlike another reviewer who thought it began well and ended poorly with cheese and self indulgence, for me, the opposite was true. At first I stupidly thought it was a little long winded and plodding, overly self indulgent, name dropping all over the place, using unnecessarily big words to discuss sports. I stuck with it because I wanted to get to the 1985 Bears part. It grabbed me and I could not wait to get another chance to get back to it after I had to set it down.I should have realized that anyone who can write as well as Scott Simon and is as thoughtful as he seems to be would be able to pull at my heart strings if he wrote about Walter Payton, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant, Dennis Rodman and the times surrounding their dominance.Mr. Simon turned out a very compelling, reflective book that may get you thinking about your past, where your headed, why you once loved sports and its figures nearly unconditionally. Mr. Simon, through excellent writing, is able to invoke some of the long buried feelings you had for some of these particular figures. It pulls at your heart strings at times and reminds you of a time when you believed in something and shared wonderful experiences with a huge number of people.It also puts into very well chosen words the sadness you still carry because nothing has been able to compare and reminds you why you still cannot put away that Bears #34 Jersey or that Bulls #23 jersey and bring yourself to buy a Bulls #1 and why, even when he seemed to be potentially the next person to step into the field with those Chicago characters from the past, you could not pull the trigger on a Bears #23 even when you had high hopes, partially satisfied, that Hester could rekindle some of that magic (and did for a short while).Bottom Line: I loved it. I received it as a present. The person (who is not even my wife or close relative) who picked it up must have known that I would like it more than I myself would have thought. I wish I could pick out presents as well for people...

Scott Simon does indeed offer us a *fan's* memoir with "Home and Away." He marks his life with recollections of the ups and downs (and there have been more of those) of Chicago sports teams. In doing so, he manages to cast off the millstone of cynicism that pervades professional sports nowadays. Simon demonstrates how he drew great inspiration from his sports heroes, even when they themselves did not live up to their public images. There is nobility to be found in athletic competition, and it is there if we search for it and uncover it, as Simon does. Yes, the focus is on Chicago sports, but it seems that any sports fan who has suffered the bitter disappointments and exalted in the triumphs will nevertheless find much to enjoy in "Home and Away." Simon pays special attention to the Chicago Cubs and their seemingly timeless march towards a far-off "next year," the colorful ,85 Bears who defied the corporate-gray image afflicting many NFL teams, and of course, the 90's Bulls -- the only sports dynasty Chicago has ever had. Don't look for much "dirt" to be thrown around here; Simon is a fan after all, and approaches his subject with a "golly gee" sort of idealism of a kid. Does that make this less of a book? Hell, no... Simon succeeds in showing sports fans the "kid" qualities that we often forget, or worse yet, try to deny. In doing that, he makes a strong case that our child-like attraction to the teams we root for is something to be remembered, cherished, and passed on to future generations. High fives for Scott Simon!

The reviews are starting to come in now and I don't want to hyperbolize. I picked up Home and Away because I had heard some good things about it and liked the few pages I read in the bookstore. I'm in a big baseball reading mode right now and Home and Away seemed to be definitely up my alley. After finishing it last night, I can say without hesitation that this is the best book I've read in a long time. Yes, it is a memoir of a fan but much much more. Simon is a gifted writer and his stories: the heartbreak of the Cubs, decline, ascension and decline of the Bears and the once in a lifetime experience of rooting for the Michael Jordan Bulls are all beautifully crafted - Simon puts you there, at Wrigley, Comiskey, Soldier Field, Chicago Stadium and the United Center, but he does so much more. He tells about the many setbacks suffered as boy, living in a loving but dysfunctional family, he brings the misery of Sarajevo and Grenada home through his experiences as a reporter in the same vivid detail as he describes the many games he has seen. He also writes about his transformation from 60s radical to 80s and 90s war correspondent. But he also, without gushing, illustrates how/why sports play such a seminal part in his and our lives. We meet fascinating people - Jack Brickhouse, Leo Durocher, Luc Longley, Mike Ditka, etc. Additionally, this book is great for its uniqueness. Somehow Simon brings all of these diverse elements together in a way where everything is connected. I'm not a Chicagoan but imaginine how moved one is when sharing Simon's memories. Above all, one does not have to be a sports fan to derive great pleasure - it is truly a human story without the cliche. We will be hearing a lot more about this book.

The author gets one thinking about things we take for granted and don't even realize how we are contributing to the destruction of our planet and all the life forms we share the planet with. A brave lady with a heart of gold wrote this book and I am thankful.

It’s amazing how checkout clerks react…some grin, some agree, and some treat not putting your food in those easy to dispense sacks a major problem.The author understands that reducing your waste is not an overnight feat. It takes time, and she walks you through the different areas where you can personally make an impact. Personally, I have not achieved the level of success as Ms. Terry, but no matter. Regular referral to her book helps to identify the next area where I can eliminate plastic, and I feel good making progress even if it is little by little.This book is an eye-opener as well as a guide on how you can follow in the author’s footsteps and do your part to reduce your personal waste. Five stars.

I don't know how or when I first learned about Terry's endeavor in trying to get rid of plastic from her life. But one thing for sure, it turns out, we both cried when we saw the images of plastic debris filled dead albatross carcasses; she saw them on Algalita and I saw them on Chris Jordan's Midway: A Message from the Gyre. But unlike me, she set out to do something about it. She boldly decided to get rid of plastic from her life, while I 'try' but still struggle with the endeavor.So it's no surprise that Terry wrote this book so people like you and me, can learn how to do it, without being overwhelmed. This book gives you easy tips to follow with brilliant and quick steps you can do, to get rid of plastic from your daily living. The message I got, and love, from Terry's book is that you don't have to be drastic, like her, to live plastic-free. She acknowledges that it can be hard but she teaches you how we can, by taking little steps to start. And the facts, the directory, exhaustive research she did and shared in the book give you enough information to start and to keep for reference. She did the leg work so we can take the guess work out of our plastic free journey.I especially love how every footnote is referenced. I also love the "rent/borrow/share" directory with links, the difference between silicone and plastic (Good to know she's on the same page as I about silicone), directory of plastic free clothing and accessories...the list goes on.If you don't know how important it is to eliminate plastic from our lives, for our health, for the planet's health, and for the animals' health, then, you definitely should pick up a copy. You can buy this digital version (like I did) or you can preorder the hardcover paper version soon. The paper version of the book is plastic free, packaging is plastic free, and shipping is plastic free - the whole book is compostable afterwards! No glue and no toxic ink was used. Compostable cotton thread was used to bind the book!I think we are worse than the dead albatross in the Gyre. The poor birds couldn't escape plastic that they had nothing to do with, 2000 miles away from us - but we are swimming in plastic every day and dying from the effects.We owe it to our children to eliminate plastic from our lives so they don't end up like the albatross babies, dead with stomach filled with plastic soda caps. And Beth Terry teaches us 'how', with this book.

God I love this book. She explains clearly the myriad of ways in which plastic is awful for our health, our kids, and our planet, but brings us back from the brink of suicide by showing us all the great things that others are doing about it and what we can do as well. She is also very human, funny, and relatable. I am a very normal mother of two, but I was able to implement many of her ideas and am inspired to implement even more. We have reduced our household waste from 1 kitchen trash bag every week to 1 kitchen trash bag every 9 weeks. Onward and upward!

I have made it about 2/3 of the way through it. I found it to be an awesome resource. There is a lot that I have learned and I have used the links to go buy some of the products that she switched to. The turtle and the plastic bag story is sad. I understand the need to bring up the effects of plastic on the environment and animals but that one bothers me.Some of what she recommends isn't that practical but a lot of it is. She has a sort of scale each chapter that gives what you can do that has very easy changes and gradually gets to more difficult. Also she lists some of the restrictions she has ran into. It is nice to have someone explain the pros and cons of the changes. For example many places ban glass water bottles.

I don't love the tiny awkward size of this book (so it can fit in your purse?) but I do love the info! The author is so passionate and it certainly is something that the world needs to be cognizant of. It definitely satisfied the activist in me. I highly recommend it as it's a good comprehensive guide to being more environmentally responsible or even weaning plastic out of your life.

Okay, I got a copy of Jerry Hill's self-published "Howard Hill's Method of Shooting the Bow and Arrow," and read it in about an hour. I'd like to say something nice about this book. I really would, but I can't. It just plain stinks. Never mind the $30.00 price of this 85-page paperback. It's poorly written, pompous bordering on narcissism, and the manuscript was obviously never edited nor proofread before publication. I get it; Jerry Hill self-published this book, but that's no excuse. My God, he couldn't even spell Paul Klopsteg's name correctly! There are only three chapters on shooting, two of them reprints of Howard Hill's words in "Hunting the Hard Way" (1953). The front matter and remaining eight chapters consist mostly of Jerry Hill patting himself on the back as his uncle's self-annointed successor while denigrating other archers and tackle. This book is a gross disservice to his uncle's legacy. John Schultz covered more in 45 pages 43 years ago ("Hitting 'em Like Howard Hill," 1975).Wait, I will say one thing nice: there are several photos of Howard Hill in this book that I've not seen published elsewhere.

I found this book not only informative, interesting, detailed, and well written, but I enjoyed thoroughly each and every well photograph it contained. I felt in reading this book I was part of the Hill family for just a short while as I enjoyed each and every page, and felt like I could have been there witnessing and participating in the great sport of archery with the World's Greatest. Mr. Jerry Hill, thank you for taking the time to share, write, and publish this amazing piece of history and the willingness to share it so unselfishly with the world.

Save your money. This over expensive book misses the mark by a mile. Jerry Hill may be the great Howard Hill’s nephew, but his explaining the Hill method was totally lacking. I’ve read a lot on Hill’s method, studied videos of John Schultz, and read books by those taught by Hill and Schultz’s.Buy Howard Hill’s ‘Hunting the Hard Way’ and watch John Schultz’s “Hitting ‘em like Howard Hill (free on YouTube) and you’ll be better off and not waste your hard earned money.

Don't be a fool and buy this book, for 30 bucks you are getting trash. First off the writing is horrible, the author can't lay out a point if he tried. You will learn nothing at all. Secondly it's in large print and you could possibly print it out in normal type and get 25 pages, it's pure BS. If anything this book should of been sold for 5 bucks. I'm sending mine back, what a rip off.

I find this to be one of the best instructional reads for the true Hill style archer. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it. I’ve read other instructional books and watched videos about the swing draw and secondary aiming but never really grasped the concept for the secondary aiming until jerry broke it down. Other (Hill style) books focused more on mechanics and not so much the aiming method. All in all it’s a must read for any serious Hill style archer.

After many years of shooting traditional bows and studying various styles of shooting, I found Jerry Hill's book on shooting the American Semi longbow very well written and was put in layman's terms so most anyone can follow his instruction and concept. This book is a must read for the novice as well as the seasoned longbow archer.

This book contains details that I have never seen before. Been shooting for over fifty years and the learning never stops. Great info and highly recommended.

I can’t comment on the quality of this book. Going by reputable reviews, I think it is probably superb. I ordered it for my husband who I think would love it. But the typeface is so small, he can’t read read it without great difficulty. I’ll be donating it to our library. I think the publishers should be reprimanded. Who do they think are the main consumers of literature on Churchill? Older people. Don’t be such cheapskates. This book should have been published in two volumes in a legible font.

Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965) lived an epic life of heroism, statesmanship, scholarship and artistic accomplishment. He was the Prime Minister (taking office on May 10th 1940 as the dark skies of Europe were clogged by the odious Luftwaffe of Nazi Germany) of Great Britain. Churchill's father was the cold and aloof Randolph Churchill who served in Parliament and the fetching beauty Jenny Jerome Churchill his social butterfly American mother. She had affairs with many men including the Prince of Wales and wed three times. Winston was scorned by his parents and considered by them to be a failure. He graduated from Sandhurst and served with distinction in India and South Africa where his daring escape from the Boers made him a household name. In a long career in Parliament he served in many posts such as Home Secretary, Secretary for the Colonies and Lord of the Admirality. He was blamed for the Gallipoli disaster of World War I and served for six months as an officer in the trenches of France. Only with the coming of Fascism did Churchill emerge from the political wilderness to lead his land to victory, By blood, toil sweat and tears the Allies at last defeated the Axis. Churchill drafted the English language and put words to war as his brilliant oratory will live forever in the minds and hearts of freedom loving people. Postwar he served as Prime Minister and wrote his war memoirs. Churchill was a genius! He was a personally kind man who loved his adoring wife Clementine, his five children, pets, painting and a vast array of eccentric friends from all walks of life. He was pro-Israel and had compassion for the poor and helpless in society. He is my ultimate hero along with Abraham Lincoln and Franklin D. Roosevelt his wartime counterpart and friend who was POTUS. Andrew Roberts has written the best one volume biography of Sir Winston. While I admire the yeoman work of Martin Gilbert and Roy Jenkins in their fine biographies of Churchill this new biography is my favorite one! On its many pages Roberts has illuminated a great life in all its complexities and challenges. Churchill's wit and good humor, his refusal to surrender and his indomitable love of the British Empire are a wonder to behold. The author was able to obtain the permission of the Royal Family to see George VI's diary entries on his many meetings with Churchill. This magisterial biography is now the new sine qua non for Churchill scholars and general readers. The breath of the scholarship combined with Roberts' prose style have set a new standard for excellence in Churchill scholarship. The best biograpy of Churchill is well worth your money and your time. Kudos to Andrew Roberts and thanks to Sir Winston Churchill a beacon of liberty and love in a world of cruelty and hate. Excellent!

I love the content of the book. However the publisher did a poor job on this initial release. The book literally stinks the room (not sure if it is the paper or the ink). Many pages were smudged, wet ink from one page got onto opposite page, please see the attached photo of a example.

Winston Churchill gets a lot of biographies so the most obvious question is why has Andrew Roberts written yet another one. Since the last major Churchill biography (by Roy Jenkins in 2001, and light on new archival research) numerous new archives have opened up. Most importantly Andrew Roberts got permission from Buckingham Palace to read the previously unopened wartime diaries of King George VI. These diaries shed new light on the relationship between Churchill and the King and offer and insider's view into Britain during the war. Roberts also has access to the recently-discovered diaries of the Soviet Ambassador to the United Kingdom Ivan Maisky and to the papers of Churchill’s children, neither of which were available to previous biographers.Of course, Andrew Roberts is at his best describing the moments when Churchill was at *his* best: the precarious hours in 1940 when France fell to the Nazis and the members of Churchill’s own War Cabinet were seduced by offers of peace. It fell to Churchill to rally a wavering cabinet and an out-gunned nation to defend herself against Hitler at a time when no other nation would. Roberts’ mastery of the detail is near-perfect and his prose is… dare I say it? Churchillian. The reader feels heat of the clashes in the War Cabinet in the spring of 1940, trembles with anticipation during the Battle of Britain (even though we of course know how it all turned out) and savors in the glory of Britain’s (and the world’s) victory in 1945.When it comes to Churchill’s life before the War, there is considerably more information that is already known and Andrew Roberts is excellent here as well. The reader sees how Churchill’s aristocratic confidence in Britain (and unyielding confidence in Winston Churchill) guided him through the controversy over the Dardanelles, the Gold Standard, India, and ultimately appeasement, the one crisis where Churchill is unanimously credited with getting it right when damn near everyone else got it wrong. Finally, Churchill returns to the premiership in 1951, unable to bring the United States and the Soviets together and unwilling to yield to his cabinet’s desire that he stand aside. When he finally does stand aside, the reader can’t help but admire Churchill’s tenacity and desire to stay in politics even when he is clearly too old to stay in the fight.Although Roberts is willing to acknowledge that Churchill was flawed in some ways, the conclusion is that Churchill’s monumental significance outweighs all of those flaws and his victory in a titanic struggle against an unimaginable evil makes those flaws seem like dust. I have my own biases to be sure as I was privileged to advise Andrew on the proofs of the book (spelling, style, fact-checking, etc…), but the work is his own entirely and my praise is my own entirely. This is an extraordinary book and if you are even tangentially interested in history then you would do well to buy it and buy a few more for your friends.

A remarkable book that hold the readers interest throughout its entire length - a tribute to the writing and, more truthfully, a great life. As other reviewers have said, new sources add only a little to a well known story, but it is such a story that the reader hardly notices. If Churchill had been a fictitious character, one would have struggled to believe all that one man could go through so many adventures - personally, militarily, and politically.The fact that the author is clearly a Churchill fan occasionally jars, but for the most part this a well balanced account that is more than just hero-worship. There is also the (very, very) occasional factual error that slipped through proofreading/editing, but again these in no way take away from an absorbing read. Five stars, fully justified.

I rate Compiler Construction: Principles and Practice to the same category as legendary Kernighan/Ritchie C Programming Language, Petzold's Programming Windows or Richter's Programming Server Side Applications for MS Windows 2000. This is one of the best books I have ever read.Compiler construction is relatively hard topic with lot of theory needed to be understood before you can write even the most trivial compiler. Regular expressions, finite automata, BNF or attribute grammars are just few things you need to know and known them very well before you can write you own compiler.Many books paying too much attention to theory, but theory itself without many practical examples is nearly useless - especially if you are new in this field. You need examples, very good, thoroughly explained examples and even better source code where theory is transformed into practice. This is something that the book does and does it very well.Every topic is covered by such examples and at the end of every chapter there is practical implementation of scanner, parser (recursive descent), semantic analyzer and code generator in 'raw' C, using very simple (but useful) language called TINY.Another great thing is how the book is organized. First chapter introduces major steps in compiler design like scanning, parsing, semantic, runtime environment, code generation and subsequent chapters dealing with these topics. That's great, because after finishing each chapter you can write your own scanner (chapter 2), top down parser (chapter 4), bottom up parser (chapter 5), semantic analyzer (chapter 6) and runtime environment and code generation (last 2 chapters).Probably the best 'proof' how great this book is, is the fact that I as an absolute beginner in compiler construction (I have been working professionally as developer for 10 years), was able to write down my own scanner, parser (LL(1), LR(1), and also LALR(1)), semantic analyzer and code generator to 0x86 MASM ASSEMBLER in 'raw' C#, without using of any automatic generators like Lex or Yacc for simple C- language presented in the book (language has global and local variables, procedures, simple arrays and strings).Compiler Construction: Principles and Practice is the best book for everyone who has no previous experience with compiler construction. Book doesn't cover all advanced topics but it's the best material for those ones who are new in this field. After finishing book you will have enough theoretical and practical experiences to move to more advanced books (but also much more difficult to grasp) like famous Dragon book.

This book goes through the front-end and middle-end of compiler construction, though not so much on the back-end. It serves as a great introductory material on parsing methods, however it dismisses some more modern techniques onto its "references" section at the end of the chapter. As such, this book comes across as an introductory book, despite what its title suggests.I would thereby caution the prospective compiler writer/student looking to study compiler construction in-depth to avoid this book. Nevertheless I was quite pleased with the book because it presents the front and middle ends of compiler construction in a clear and concise way. Furthermore, it contains excerpts of code that implement a working compiler for a 'theoretical' language and a theoretical architecture (albeit in text. Unofficial code is available on github though). Which is surprising despite the lack of coverage on subjects like register allocation, dataflow analysis, etc.Tl;Dr, if you're looking for an introductory compiler book, without the complexities of back-end compiler construction, I recommend one to get this. Otherwise, either get the Dragon book or eingeering a compiler. This book wouldn't satisfy the adventurous compiler writer/student.

This was a book I purchased for class. Now that I have a better understanding I would like to go back and re-read this book. I think it skips some steps and does not show you how to build a compiler from the ground up. But it is still a great resource if you ever wanted to make your own compiler.

Has source code in back. Has a website you can download the source. Explains each part well. Felt confident about building a compiler after reading!!! The comp in this book uses structs for nearly all of it. Glad I found this one.

This is the best compiler book I have read. I have gone through 4 different compiler books. All have clear problems. This one is totally different, it is easy to read and understand. Furthermore, it is full of examples and come with solution manual for instructors. IMHO, it is the most suitable textbook for an introductory course in compilers.

The book is not being published any longer by Dover Books, and I needed it to complete my collection of four Scarlatti Sonatas that I had bought in the past. Book two was in excellent condition for a great price of $12.00 even though it was used. I was very happy with my decision to purchase a used book that was almost in mint condition.
