Bought this for my 4 year old son that is obsessed with dinosaurs. He really enjoyed it. This book is set after the events of Jurassic World and talks about the many other Hybrid Dinosaurs that were created besides the Indominous Rex. It's not told in a Narative story style, but rather presents factoids about each individual Hybrid including which dinos and DNA were used to create them. My son really likes creating Hybrids in his Lego Jurassic World game, so I thought this book would be to his liking and he enjoyed it. Also comes with two sheets of tear out card stock Hybrid Dino Cards.

On the heels of the park closing, comes this little gem of a book detailing some, not all of Dr. Wu's geneticly changed dinosaurs. Strange indeed are the creatures he came up with. A delightful children's book, I recommend it to all parents of dino loving kids.

Very nice! Maybe spoilers for JP 5? Awesome pictures and detail! Wouldn't want to cross paths with any of these things.

This book is pretty entertaining, but it is very short and easy to read. My 10 yr old was disappointed because he read it in 2 minutes. Another bad thing about this is that it showed a image of a spinoraptor while claiming that it was a spinosaurus. Then on the size chart, it showed the spinoraptor to be 60 feet long, which the true fact is that a spinoraptor is really the size of a large Utahraptor.

Son loved this for his birthday.

My son LOVES this book. He is 4 years old and obsessed with Jurassic World.

Thompson explores his faith and beliefs and how they change after various encounters.Blankets is a heartwarming tale of a middle class boy struggling to achieve social credibility and acceptance, while remaining to to himself. It's about love as much as it is about faith. They are connected. Thompson ponders his place in the universe as a boy who got bullied and did not fit in that just wanted to draw. Then, he matures into a young man that must make the major decision as to what he wants to do with his life.Craig Thompson is totally honest in Blankets as he reflects on his failures and life decisions in full. I think everyone can relate to this book. Craig is more than a character by the end, he is your friend, he is you. I believe that most readers will greatly relate and empathize with Craig at some point in Blankets.His illustrations are beautiful and often moving. He captures facial expressions and the Midwest American lifestyle with such a clear understanding of the people who live therein. Thompson develops an honest verisimilitude with his thoughtful narration and quaint drawings. They are as captivating as any great artwork I've seen in graphic novels. Craig Thompson should be proud of this book. It's wondrous in its scope and insight into his life.Blankets reminds me very much of Craig Thompson's peers in the autobiographical graphic novel medium such as Will Eisner's A Contract with God Trilogy and Eddie Campbell's ALEC comic books. For more coming of age books like Blankets, the graphic novel This One Summer is very similar in it's grounded approach to young people. If you like the love story in Blankets, then I would recommend Blue Is the Warmest Color by Julie Maroh. If you liked any of these books, Blankets is for you. By the same note, if you end up loving Blankets as I did, I would highly recommend these other books to you.

You've probably read stories like these. Hell, you've probably read, watched, heard tons of them during the course of your lifetime. I know I did. Some of them were more than excellent, some of them were boring piece of crap without an intelligent thought, some of them were just `meh' - random genre-writing without a real effort - and some of them were something more than a story. Something more like an experience imprisoned on paper. Thompson's "Blankets" is one such story and no matter how many times you heard something just like it this one will manage to kick you in the gut. Or wherever it hurts the most. Premise is simple enough. You have a young boy and his brother living in rural Wisconsin. You have religious parents with no lack of authority, and a community full of "jerks". You have bullies in high-school and you have religion as an escape mechanism from plights of this world. You have a winter-camp, pretty girl and falling in love. You have a road trip, or something very similar to it and you have emotional growth connected to it. You have a disillusion and maturing, you have fears, hopes and longing. In other words, you have elements of everyone's life - rearranged a bit to suit a purpose of a story - laid out on close to a 600 pages. It could've gone to blatant cliché or it could've been boring as hell. Fortunately, it wasn't neither. Though elements are familiar, their representation isn't. Thompson is skillful artist (which becomes more obvious in the "Habibi") and the way in which he manages to construct panels to show, indicate and cause emotions is something to behold. His line can be either simple or endlessly complex (reminiscent of arabesque or techniques of expressionism), extremely manipulative or perfectly innocent and much of the power that lies in this book does come from the Art itself, words merely supplement the picture. And "Blankets" is powerful, have no doubt about it. It takes you back to a place and events you never quite forgot, it makes you wonder what if, it makes you pick up a phone and make a call (though You know it would be a wrong move and nothing good could come out of it), it gives you this feeling that, despite everything, world really is a wonderful place. Thompson is very careful about it, more careful than many an author out there. He never idolizes the past (though sometimes he does `preach' about it from an older perspective), nor does he dwell in it. He uses it as a fuelling ground, using his art to represent a moment (or few) that made him what he is today (moment we all, in some part, share with each other). At the same time, this is a book about personal experience and a book about `being human'. Do you recall most famous blanket in the history of comics? If you recalled Linus's security blanket from "Peanuts" you recalled right. What Charles Schulz did in a series of cartoons, Thompson did on a more complex level. "Blankets" is a story about insecurities and various mechanisms that we use to overcome them. World is dark and full of terror (or so the saying goes), and sometimes you need a blanket under which you can devise your own world, with its own rules. Eventually, you'll have to get out (Thompson uses the famous dialogue from Plato's "Republic" to indicate this). World will not change, but you'll be more prepared.

Blankets has changed the way I look at graphic novels. This isn't so much a graphic novel as it is an experience.There is so much raw beauty to be found in this book. The inescapable memories of first love, the ever-personal struggle with religion, and the importance of family are just some things touched upon. It's also very well written and delicately and tastefully drawn, especially Craig, the main character's, thoughts. There's this one part where Craig says goodbye to his girlfriend, with whom he has a long-distance relationship. The next panels show her driving away. When her car is out of sight, the final panel is of her car driving off a nonexistent cliff. I don't know about you, but when I see somebody that I love leaving, that's exactly how I feel.This is one of the most beautiful things I have read. Craig Thompson is a genius.

more detail than is needed for undergrads and soooo boring. When I heard past students criticizing it as very dry I thought, "well, what methods book is NOT dry?" I was wrong. This is worse. I've used earlier editions in the past, but I guess I've been spoiled by a few years of using Joanne Keyton's book instead. I'd recommend that instead of Wimmer & Dominick

I was forced to buy this book and I hated reading it. It didn't help me with my research paper. I would never buy this again.

I could not believe how fast I received this book. I ordered it with 1-day shipping (expensive) but it was completely worth the order (given I needed this the next day for a class). This book describes many useful descriptions and diagrams as to how mass media research is conducted. I totally recommend this book!

Excellent book for those who needs introduction to media reaearch and know how of research too. Well explained in each scenario as to how research can be conducted using statistical techniques. However latest edition is way too expensive for a beginner. Renting is a good option.

One of my favorite classes. I recommend this course to anyone getting into college or needing extra electives before graduating. Good luck.

I thought it was going to be more information about how to treat illnesses and injuries WITHOUT modern medicine and equipment. It's basically a how to on setting up a small medical center and how to use some of the equipment and supplies to treat various situations.

I was hoping for something that provided more info for true survival. It is pretty lame, containing the same stuff you might find in a boy scout first aide manual. Nothing new to me. Complete waste of money.

It is so hard to find a medical book that doesn't end with "Contact 911" at the end of the page. It is a good book if you need information of basic wounds and sicknesses for when you can't just go to the hospital.

Maybe the author feared he'd be sued for practicing medicine without a license, but he didn't tell us much we can use -- unless we own a drug store or enough guns to steal what we need if the "S*** hits the fan," you're "WORL" and "YOYO," and all that business. I should have known better -- prepper-anything never seems to make much sense as far as everyday practical steps in case a severe storm takes out the rural power for two weeks and you can't keep your insulin cold, or you're out hunting and run into some unconscious guy with thready pulse and blue lips. I would much rather have had a basic primer (but not too basic) that went beyond "ABC" and into "Without a glucose meter, how do you know whether the disoriented camper with a "Diabetic" medical alert tag has high or low blood sugar -- or another problem altogether?" and other such info at a similar level.

This is nothing but common sense first aid. My book actually says "Best Seller" on it, what a joke!

Preppers look like supermen, but they act in our real world. Planning your actions for a possible emergency and resources stocking are crucial preparations. I liked reading practical handbook like this one to know the techniques of prepping and learning to identify plants/weeds that are useful for medicinal purposes incase of such unfortunate events.Graham Higgins wrote this book consistently and comprehensively to help anyone learn tips for survival and I appreciate him for sharing his ideas. This book is indeed helpful.

Pretty lean and basic. More of a handout than a book.

Simply to say, this book offers great value and crucial information for surviving. Teaches you how to act and when, and most importantly how. I was really surprised with the content of the whole book, it is really nicely done.

The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because I am not a Bliss fan and this book did not make me into one. It's a well written, thoughtful book that if you have read Jamie's Last Rider books provides insight into one of her most hated characters. I feel that is an accurate description of how most readers feel about Bliss. Not everyone, but most. I am not a Bliss hater, but I do not care for her and would have been just as happy had she disappeared into the night.Having said that, I feel Jamie did a fantastic job of explaining Bliss's past, her reasons for acting and treating others the way she does. For some readers it will be enough to change their opinions of Bliss. Regardless of how you feel about Bliss it was nice to get her 'out of the way' for future books, the one's so many of us are anticipating. She has her new life, we got to get a glimpse into some characters and possibilities that will hopefully be coming up soon. The glimpses into TLR and BB's as well as the Penni and Jackal teaser are worth reading the book alone!It really was a good story, a little quick, but it was supposed to be a novella and was extended. I would not have minded had it been longer. And that perhaps is the greatest compliment I can give a book. : ) As with all of Jamie's books, if you have not read the others I suggest reading them in order.

I know a lot of Last Riders fans were not thrilled that this book was about Bliss. I, on the other hand, am just such a fan of Jamie Begley that I don't care who she writes about. If she writes it, I'll read it. Besides, you have to know that if she dedicated a book to her story then Bliss will somehow redeem herself. She actually stays pretty true to herself throughout the book. She's not the most friendly character but you find out why she is the way she is. She's got some issues but to her credit she's not a sniveling, weepy, hot mess. I will admit that I got misty eyed on a couple of occasions. Overall, it's a good story but I think it's misnamed. It seems more Last Rider's than Biker Bitches but you can't go wrong with either.

Book 3 in the Biker Bitches series, also a part of The Last Riders series.This was a fantastic book to read. Lots of questions answered for me and also making up for what happened in the last book. So glad it was more than a Novella.Bliss is out of the Last Riders club house and in the same position she always ends up in - alone. The fear of being alone has made Bliss try to hold on to the people she thinks can and did protect her. Now she feels like no one is there for her, and that all she is though of is as a sl**.Drake has always had an eye for Bliss, but the things he has heard about the clubhouse and how the women live has stopped anything from happening. True to Porter ways though, he never will give up, and when a chance meeting with Bliss gives him the information he is looking for, you sit back and watch how Drake has gotten where he is today.Bliss always thought she loved Shade, but what Shade really does for his friends is proven again in this book. He has eyes everywhere and knows just the right thing to do.

Everything changed for Bliss when she was rescued from her living nightmare by the Last Riders MC. They gave her a home, protection and safety, well until she couldn’t contain her inner bitch. Now Bliss finds herself on her own again, without the club’s support. It’s only a matter of time until her past catches up with her again. When an extremely sexy male steps in and lays his claim, she doesn’t believe that anything good could happen to her! Can this be real, is he real?He has watched her from afar because she belonged to the Last Riders MC, but now all bets are off since she left the club. Drake is not about to stop until Bliss belongs to him, after all he is a Porter. However, he is finding it is difficult getting Bliss to accept him and the protection he is offering. Is she still yearning for the club? This is the season for miracles, so maybe there is one for him and Bliss.When I started this book, my perception of Bliss was such that I really hesitated to read this book. However, I really love Jamie Begley and have never been disappointed with any of her books. As I read this story, it impressed me with the depth each character and the development of the storyline. By the end of the book, I fell in love with Bliss and Drake! Fantastic addition to my library.

Excellent diagrams and ideas for trellis and arbor products. I'll utilize one such set of instructions soon to build my own lovely arbor.

I purchased this book because we plan to replace our front boundry fence and after searching round for ideas for an entry arbor came up with zip. This book has many great ideas what can easily be put together by anyone who is into DIY and wants some different to what their neighbours have. It's our little secret!!

Solid group of ideas presented reasonably well. If you are considering items for trellising or sitting under good start to help you get to your final project.

I needed ideas for decorating a room with an outdoor theme. I didn't use any ideas from this book, but it makes a nice book to have laying around as part of the décor for that room.
