I have owned rats off and on for years. It had been a while and we were starting from scratch. I ordered this book as a good refresher for me and a handy resource for my daughter. This book is great! It has everything any rat owner would need, new or experienced. It is well formatted and just stuffed full of information. If you only get one book, get this one.

This is a wonderful book to keep in my classroom. The used condition rating held true as one page was cut out and the previous owner appeared to keep it under their rat cage (rat urine a seemed to be present, but it wiped off easily).

Great book. Informative and great even for kids. Used this book often as a guide. Must have for first time rat owners.

This book is more from a scientific point of view. I found it very interesting to read about the differences and similarities between wild and pet rats. It also has a good chapter on food and what to feed them and why, which I found helpful and important. While this is not a book for a small child, it is good for those who are interested in not only the care and feeding for rats but also the scientific points about rats.I would recommend getting a few other rat books first though - I also enjoyed Rats: Complete Care Guide by Debbie Ducommun as well as Training Your Pet Rat (Training Your Pet Series) by Gerry Buscis. These books are far more detailed on caring for your pet rats.

Not a great book, but perfect for someone who's just starting out with pet rats. It covers all the basic stuff: caging, how to choose your rats, etc. but thats about it, and it has hardly any information on handling and socializing rats, or much on their health. I wouldn't pass this book up, but you should also consider a more detailed book if you really want the best for your pet rats.

Hello, my fellow Nurse Practitioner students. I bought this book hoping to use it for the remaining of my schooling and expecting it to last for at least a year. Here is my humble advice. DO NOT buy the new edition. The 5th edition aka the newest edition is a rip-off and here is why. The questions are identical almost to the tea of the 4th generation book. For example, a subsection might have 24 questions in the 4th edition. The 5th edition might have 25 but only one will be new and the other 24 are exactly the same. The book is good obviously as the previous book got good reviews. But do not be fooled into thinking you are gaining by buying the newest edition. Save yourself a lot of money and get the previous edition. Even the summaries which break down the questions are the same. I am disappointed the company considers this a new edition because they put in a few pictures and claim they added material.

I took Fitzgerald's online course and completed this review book over the course of about 4 weeks after graduation from Gonzaga. I also worked through parts of Hollier, Leik, and Winland-Brown, and listened to Barkley's review. I found most of the books riddled with errors that made me mistrust them. Winland-Brown was much harder than it needed to be and more erroneous than most. It was my least favorite. Barkley was opinionated and a bit simplistic. Other people seem to like Leik. I didn't. The format bugged me as much as the errors. Fitzgerald's online review was helpful, but not as in depth as this book. In short, this book was by far my most useful resource. Paired with notecards from school and a textbook review of the areas I felt weak in (neuro and contraception), I was very well prepared for the adult-geriatric AANP exam. I passed with a score in the 95th percentile. Work hard on your review. It is worth it. I don't understand how people can claim this book is too in-depth for the exam or for practice. This is really just the basic foundation of competence. If you think this book is too much, I'd hate to be your patient!

I purchased the Fitzgerald NP review book, as well as the online version of the FNP review course from the Fitzgerald website. I passed the AANP FNP boards yesterday and would highly recommend both for preparation! What I really respect about the Fitzgerald program is that it really prepares you with a thorough knowledge and reasoning base, both for boards and for entering practice. I can say that I absolutely feel more confident about beginning practice than if I had not done the book and course, or if I had done one of the more memorization-based programs like Berkley.What I found is that the Fitzgerald review course videos correlate wonderfully with the review book. There is a section in the book for each topic that the videos cover, and the book allows for even deeper explanation of the topics presented in the videos as well as some additional topics and lots of practice questions. The review videos are great too though, Margaret Fitzgerald is an excellent presenter and has that New-Englander bluntness that was helpful in sorting through what you do and don't need to know.The only thing I'd change about the book is moving the practice questions for each topic from the beginning of each section to the end of it. Do the questions at the end after you've read the section, so you are checking your understanding.

This is a really good study tool so far. I made sure to buy it new so I would have access to the online question bank, which is just a bunch of duplicate questions from the text, it doesn't have rationales and it doesn't save your work if you stop halfway through a 500 question quiz so you end up repeating questions a bunch. So don't go out of your way to buy or rent one with a code. But I really like the format where you answer questions to see what you know then read a blurb about the topic. The book is divided into really digestable chunks and I feel like I'm retaining a lot even though I'm reading through it so quickly.

I passed the AANP boards yesterday and I felt that this book made me more confused and less confident after reading it. I disliked many of the questions and felt that the LEIK book was much better and straightforward in preparing me for the exam. I also completed Amelie Hollier's audio review course which I also highly recommend.There's no doubt Fitzgerald is extremely knowledgable, but I felt that the way the book is laid out is too complicated, goes into too much detail for when you're trying to study for boards.

this review is very different than hollier and leik. you read a portion and then answer questions. i like it, however, bc it is very thorough. but it may cover more info than needed! this is a resource that i will likely use in practice as a new NP. it has a link inside the book if you buy it new that you can take practice questions. but the questions cover the material in the book. it just depends on what you like and how you study, but i think this is a great resource to round out studying for the exam.

I studied exclusively from this book, as well as utilized the online portion. Passed ANCC on the first try, and was fully confident entering the certification examination. Full of useful information in small, easy to understand chunks. Highly recommend it.

Part I of Don Quixote was published in 1605; in 1613, his Exemplary Novels appeared, and these picaresque tales of romantic adventure gained immediate popularity. Journey to Parnassas, a satirical review of his fellow Spanish poets, appeared in 1614, and Part II of Don Quixote in 1615. Miguel de Cervantes died on April 23, 1616, the same day as the death of Shakespeare--his English contemporary, his only peer.John Rutherford is a Fellow of The Queen's College, Oxford, where he teaches Spanish, Spanish-American and Galician language and literature. He has also translated La Regenta, by Leopoldo Alas and (with others) "Them" and Other Stories, by Xosé Luis Méndez Ferrin. There's only one original "Quixote", but there are literally dozens of translations, and an almost infinite number of commentaries about the quality, integrity and appeal of those various translations. But, if you would just like to sit down with a readable and fairly mainstream version there are two free Kindle volumes that offer you a happy choice.The four "major" translations that are referenced over and over again are by Smollett, Grossman, Putnam, and Raffel. (There are roughly a dozen "minor" but well known and vigorously defended or reviled others.) But, the first translation, which was published in 1612, within just seven years of the release of "Quixote" itself, was by Thomas Shelton. The most popular translation after that, until the "modern" era, was Ormsby's 1885 version.Happily, Kindle offers a free copy of Ormsby's version. It also offers a kindleunlimited, (and sometimes free as a promotion), copy of Gerald Davis' reworking of the Shelton version.Some people favor Raffel, (although faulted for being too oversimplified), or Putnam, (faulted for being too colloquial). Grossman is the most modern, but is frequently criticized for taking great liberties and being almost purposefully prolix and obscure. Of course, each translator brought his or her own sense of style, and own sense of the work, to the project, and all of them felt fairly free to put their own authorial stamp on the book. Ormsby is highly regarded because of his scholarly effort to achieve "accuracy". The Davis book is highly regarded, although sometimes relegated to a niche position, because of the translator's attempt to find a middle ground between the Shelton original and a modern reader's sensibilities.This Kindle Ormsby is the 1885 version, not the Norton update of 1981. But that's fine, since the update modernized some language but didn't change the text dramatically. As a bare public domain version you don't get notes, footnotes, modern annotations and the like. You do, however, get the full text, include Ormsby's analysis of prior translations. The book is formatted well enough and has a basic table of contents. It is readable, if unadorned.The Kindleunlimited Davis is also barebones, although there is a nice preface by Davis. Again, the formatting and type editing is fine and unfussy. It is also perfectly readable.I prefer the Davis version, but that really is a matter of personal taste. It is nice to be able to suggest that not only are these two freebies adequate, they do indeed have an honorable place amongst all of the best translations. As a consequence you do not have to lower your standards, or accept an inferior translation, when selecting one of these freebies as your text of choice.Surprisingly, each Kindle version can be augmented, for a few dollars, with Audible Narration. The Ormsby narration is a bit more energetic, the Davis narration is more solemn. I only sampled them, but both seemed fairly engaging.Please note, because there are so many editions of each and all of these books, and because Amazon is not at its best when mixing and matching books, editions, and reviews, it's important to mention which books this review refers to. The kindleunlimited Davis displays a white cover and a pencil or engraved image of Don Quixote framed in yellow. It clearly states that it is "The New Translation By Gerald J. Davis". The free Ormsby sports the generic Amazon public domain cover, in brown and buff. Don't mistakenly buy some expensive "collectible" mass market copy, unless that's what you want.

Never a reader in my young years, the desire and effort didn't arrive until I was 60. I began reading Lee Child/Jack Reacher books. Mindless I suppose, but somehow reading those books fueled a fire in my deep down to read more. Came the time I started reading the classics. Books I was supposed to have read in high school, but found a way to avoid. Regrets come to mind, eh? Anyway, reading the classics for the first time at this age has been a wonderful experience, one I'm not capable of putting words to. That said, The Adventures of Don Quixote was an absolutely delightful read. Truly one of my, if not my favorite read of the 1st 60 or so classics I've read in the last two years. Absolutely loved it...

I do not recommend the book with the ISBN 9781545567630 and the UPC 9781545567630 because this is printed in probably a 6 point text and it is not the entire book. This edition does not provide a table of contents so one must search for a chapter if one must go back to it for reference. This book ends at the end of chapter 20 of volume 1. It is missing chapters 21-52 of volume 1 and all of volume 2 which has 74 chapters.If you want a good edition of Don Quijote then purchase the Norton Critical Edition UPC 9780393972818 ISBN 0-393-97281-X

A great read for middle school boys, younger readers, or anyone interested in this legendary football player. The stories follow Brian Urlacher from a young kid, through his middle school years, and finally into high school. Each chapter highlights an obstacle he faced (like being "the short kid"--who knew?!) and how Brian worked through the challenge. Some parts were really funny, and some anecdotes made you appreciate how much teamwork can impact a kid's life. Great illustrations throughout.

Sean Jensen is an incredibly passionate storyteller and talented writer. He has a gift for capturing real life stories that truly have an impact on his readers. I wish there were more writers like him to provide our children with inspirational stories. I know that for my son and me, the story about Brian Urlacher's childhood told by Sean will have a lasting impact. I too hope that if my son is faced with adversity and challenges during his childhood, he will face them head on without excuses.

This book is a book about Brian Urlacher and thus sort career from middle school to high school. I gave this book a high rating because I love sports books. I would recommend this book to anyone who like biographies and/or sports books.

I gave this book to my eleven and twelve year old grandsons in Middle School. Brian Urlacher is a good man and worth listening to by young men.

My fourth grade daughter read this in a few hours. She is not a football fan, but she still enjoyed it immensely. The lessons of perseverance and overcoming adversity are universal. I highly recommend this book to parents or teachers who want their children to dream big and work hard.

Mason appears to be a straight arrow but he is a bit of a loose cannon also. They are good together and so good with each other. This was a very satisfying telling of their story. I enjoyed it. It’s not absolutely necessary to have read the other books in the series but why deny yourself the pleasure of discovering the rest of the men of Four Kings Security.

I loved this book and enjoyed reading it. Lucky and Mason are wonderfully flawed characters. They make some misconceptions, but King will knock some sense into the two of them. I had some chuckles with this story and love how it progressed.I knew how things would end with a single comment that was given towards the beginning if the story, but I enjoyed the story and all the adventures that the guys had. This is just such a fun, sexy, action packed, adventure with amazing characters. It also sets up King's story which is going to be amazing.I received an ARC of this book from LesCourt Author Services. This is my honest opinion and review. I also had to buy a coy since it was so wonderful.

I have been waiting for Lucky and Mason's book and it did NOT disappoint. Mason is now the chaser as Lucky is running from his feelings. Mason gets suspended while an internal investigation is taking place. He can't be out of work or his mind will keep going back to his past. He asks King for a temporary job helping out as a body guard. King puts him under Lucky to train and Mason sure hopes he will be on top of Lucky soon. Mason trust Lucky at work, but not outside of it. Mason has a secret that even the Four Kings Security knows nothing about. That secret is now after Mason to punish him for what he did as a college kid. Ace and Mason's relationship ended because he could not trust Ace with his secret. Will he trust Lucky? Mason is trying to prove he is only interested in Lucky full time and starts learning more Spanish to show Lucky how serious he is. Lucky is not sure he can commit to a full time relationship and how will his family handle him dating the cowboy who broke Ace's heart?

The Four Kings Security series is an automatic buy for me. I have enjoyed how these men find family and love after surviving difficult pasts.I was rooting for Lucky and Mason to finally get together. Lucky is one of the Kings and Mason is a police detective who drive each other crazy but there is a chemistry they can’t ignore. I enjoyed their story but have to admit, I have been waiting for King’s story and will buy it as soon as it is available.

Another hit. Enjoyed this new book very much.I just love these guys. They are fun, funny and sexy AF. They are hard, vulnerable, sweet, loving... totally great and yet not perfect. How perfect is that?Also, fun! I said that already but c'mon... they are fun! I wanna be friends with these ppl and I don't like ppl ^^Can't wait for King's book. He's something else *salivating*

I am loving this series! I've been waiting for Lucky and Mason's story and I was not disappointed! They are sweet, sexy, and a lot of fun! Add in the other Kings, Colton, and its a great read! This group of men are everything I love to read about...always there for each other, the brotherly bickering..SO much love there! And the epilogue! I need King's book NOW!!!

I love these books not only for the sheer entertainment value but also because they highlight so many of the struggles out vets face and battle everyday, you can read the love and respect Charlie has for our vets in every word. Spoilers:Mason's role and decision surprised me and King's job at the end! Cannot wait for his book!
